Having adventures is the stuff of life; they give us something to look forward to, they take us away from our daily routines and they enable us to explore new places and try new things.
Tuesday Club on Tour provided our members with the opportunity of going on four day trips over the year. The trips were suggested by the Tuesday Club members themselves.
Despite rain of biblical proportions, we all enjoyed our trip to Willowgate. We spent the morning practising archery and axe throwing. Luckily, the rain stopped in the afternoon when we took canoes out onto the water. A couple of brave souls even tried paddle boarding.
On the hottest day of the year, we went to the seaside, but there was no need for sun cream as a layer of dense fog covered St Andrews. Despite the haar, everyone had a great time, and we hope to go on another trip in 2026. We might even be able to see the sea before we are standing in it! Some members had not been to the seaside since they were at school and for one member, that was over 30 years ago.
The staff at the aquarium went out of their way to make sure we had a great day out, answering our questions about the sea life and making sure we had somewhere warm to eat our sandwiches. There was loads to see, but our highlights included walking through the ocean tunnel of sharks and giant turtles, watching the otters play and of course the gift shop.
We had a wonderful afternoon with many laughs and ice cream.
The trips were very well attended, both exciting and enjoyable, providing many happy memories for our members.
